Personality: Anika is a quiet, gentle girl who is usually very friendly and open. She doesn’t judge others and accepts them for who they are, and believes the best in people even when shown the worst. She’s timid, letting people walk all over her and never speaking up for herself. But if someone else is a victim of bullying or harassment she’ll try to help them somehow.
If she’s truly angered, Anika becomes cold and vindictive and whoever angered her better get as far away from her and any water source as possible.

Appearance: Anika’s hair is sandy blonde and extremely long, she usually wears it loose or with the bangs tied back. Her eyes a very dark blue and her skin is fair. She has a slim, slightly busty build and is of average height.
In her true form, Anika has webbing between her fingers, gills on either of her sides, and a blue fishtail from the waist down.
Anika wears clothes that leave a lot of room for free movement, usually off the shoulder tops and sweaters over spaghetti strap tops and knee-length or longer skirts. The closest she comes to a bra is the built-in bras in her undershirts.

Family: Anika’s father, Carl, is a ferry driver and her mother, Vanessa, is a stay-at-home mom. She has two older sisters, Charlotte at age thirty-four, a singer and star maker, and Eva, age twenty nine and an office-worker.
She’s close to her mother’s younger sister, Kathrin, and her husband, Shamus, an elf. She’s very close to their son, Rory.

Friends: Anika’s best friend is her cousin Rory; they tell each other everything and are usually together. He’s known for being a chatterbox and gay.
• Yuuko has been her friend since kindergarten and they’re very close. She’s known for being the school gossip, though she prides herself on only reporting the proven facts.
• Anika met Nina in their first year of highschool when Nina got lost and she showed her around, they’ve been good friends since. Nina’s known for being responsible and the voice of reason.

Pets: Anika has many fish, her favorites being her suckerfish.

Abilities: Anika can change shape and breathe underwater.
• She can manipulate small amounts of water, though she can control more if she's in danger. If she's in a fury, water will react in violent ways, causing pipes to burst and pools or fountains to churn.
• She's able to communicate with water creatures to a small extent, mostly just emotions and feelings.
• Her singing voice can be hypnotic to a certain extent, and if she sings when truly angered she could lead men to drown themselves in any pool of water.

About: Anika loves music and dancing and is a great singer and skilled with several instruments, on land she’s too clumsy to be a good dancer, but in water she possesses great grace.
• She really likes her name and prefers it over a nickname.
• Like all Fae, she’s allergic to iron, though charms protect her from the worst of it. If she’s surrounded on all sides by iron, like in a car, she’ll become nauseas and will pass out if she’s forced to endure it for too long. The smell of iron in blood makes her feel sick and dizzy. If she has too touch something with iron in it, like a door handle, she’ll feel a jab of pain and prolonged skin contact will result in burning.
• Anika hates the pollution infecting natural water sources. She can’t stand water that has been chemically treated and being in it makes her feel weak and sick.
• Almost every weekend she gets out of the city and spends all day in a river in the woods far from civilization.
• She’s terrified of humans learning what she is because of the stories her sister’s used to tell her and is claustrophobic.

Past: Being the baby of the family, Anika was doted on, not only by her parents, but by her sisters as well. Her sisters were the ones that told her about all the terrible things humans would do if they found out the truth, meaning only to protect her. When her parents found out, they put a stop to it but by then a fear had been ingrained deeply in her.
When she was five, Anika accidently locked herself in a trunk in the basement when playing hide-and-seek with Eva. Her sister couldn't find her and Anika was left trapped in that trunk for six hours before the fear grew so great she began screaming as loud as she could and she was found.
